He turned over A9 for the full house. My bet on the river was a blocking bet because i thought AA99K would split. I was planning to push the river before i paired. Was that correct? New table so no reads at all.

I am surprised he didn't reraise the river but let you see his hand instead. Not much for him to be afraid of there. Presumably he's not reraising the flop in fear of 22 or something.
Looks like you played it ok - didn't overbet on the turn or river when you may be behind the whole time as it turned out.
Hate it when the BB gives you something pretty good like that - but not good enough
Obviously you were concerned with his call on the flop after the respectable reraise. It sucks being out of position too.
Anyone check this down (check/fold even?).
I know I try not to get too attached to BB hands when the action is like this...but it's tough!

Blocking bet on the river is fine, if raised you can usually dump this safely unless he'd raise with AQ or something in that spot. Most of the time he'll just call that and you'll see Ax-AQ and get a split.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

i worded my question wrong. I lost the least possible but it was because i got lucky and he played it like a complete donkey. If the board doesnt pair im losing my stack. Could i have lost less than that?

My personal play is to check raise this flop. But i think you played fine. Without the river which slows you down i dont mind if you go broke sometimes here.
