CO's hand range here is very wide, as he likes to open it up in position. SB just sat down, and I've seen nothing out of line. Preflop is standard. Is this flop an auto-bet? I think there's a pretty good chance my hand is best here, but it just seems like I'm very prone to a CR from an aggressive player, that I'm wondering if betting this flop is +EV. I guess I'm being somewhat results oriented, but I think my line is pretty transparent. Does it matter if I have 99? TT? JJ? Since 55 plays pretty much like air to a CR here. What if this flop was 3-way? Does it change anything? Should I bet closer to pot? Thoughts?

preflop: is fine
flop: i'd either check behind or bump it up closer to full pot.
As played, just fold. It's a nothing pot and this is a terrible reverse implied odds spot.

I would've bet something closer to 25 here, since your bet looks weak. To answer your question about the 99-JJ range, I'd say it does matter, because in SB's position, I see myself playing 99-JJ on a board like this fairly often. It would make for a much more difficult fold here. As played, I'd say it's a fairly easy fold, since you're pretty much sitting on air to a CR as you've stated.
Is the bet EV+? I would say so, I suppose it's read dependant, but against an unknown, I'd still bet here.

Also, can someone explain reverse implied odds? And why this is a bad case of it?

If implied odds are the odds you get from an opponent paying you off after you catch your hand, then reverse implied odds are the odds you lose from paying your opponent off.
You win a little when youre ahead but you lose alot when you are behind. Reverse implied odds make marginal hands unplayable.
In this case if hes got an overpair you have 2 outs and he isnt folding. If he has AQ (a likely holding that you beat). He still has a 30% chance of winning the hand and he will fold if he doesnt catch his cards.
If the turn is an A, K, Q, J or T and he bets you will be in even more trouble as he very likely has overcards in this range and could make you fold the winning hand, or you could call with the losing hand. OR you could call with the winning hand and another overcard could come on the river.
You have alot of difficult decisions and will probably end up making a mistake that costs you alot. <= Reverse implied odds.

Your half-pot bet here will get 0 respect. I think SB can make that raise with any 2 and get away with it. Unknowns rarely play trips like this, A3o just WTFPWNED you.
