villain is a weak loose 'tard.
pre-flop this is almost always a bet to $7, but somehow not this time...
I figure his most likely holding is TJ and he won't be folding that cos "omg two pair", even on this board... he also won't be folding TT/99 but may be stupid enough to fold an 8.
anyway, i've been reading about closing your eyes and pushing a bit recently. Correct application?

I don't mind the shove here. The only two legit K hands he could have is KJ or KQ. Though I suppose if he's a moron K9 or KT. I don't think there are too many 8's in his range though.

I disagree with your most likely holding I think his most likely holding is KJ TARPing.

If you think he is incapable of folding 2pair and sets on this board its probably good. If he is, yuck.

I love how like every hand we see there are mistakes PF and people always say "I usually 3bet PF but didn't this hand for some reason".

I'm not calling you out Daven, I wouldn't have said anything if a lot of people hadn't been doing it lately.

no problem, i've got pretty thick skin! I agree that poor pre-flop play is the cause of a big chunk of the complicated post-flop spots seen... I don't always 3-bet JJ here though, and don't think that is such a big leak - thoughts?

I very rarely 3-bet pairs < 99 here - maybe I should change the hand history cos the same situation could then legitimately turn up...

you should know exactly what you did wrong in this hand as spenda has pointed out.
if we dont do things differently from what we know is correct we shouldnt have to post really tough hands like this (although as played i agree with your thinking) but thats missing the point

pf isnt really a mistake. if you 3bet then you gotta call a shove. so it depends on how often villain 3bets and with what he felts.

flop im raising ginormous because im never ever folding later and it really sucks to set yourself up for what could actually be a correct fold with a big hand.
