Do you check behind here? Is the only hand calling a straight?

I know the flat call on the flop was probably a bad play; I was going to reraise the PFR. But he just called.

Anyway, results:
sejje is all-In [$24.50]
CalGA111 calls [$24.50].
CalGA111 shows [ 4d, 4s ] three of a kind, fours.
sejje shows [ 3d, 3s ] three of a kind, threes.
CrazzyTootth doesn't show [ Qc, Kh ] two pairs, kings and queens.
CalGA111 wins $48.25 from side pot #1 with three of a kind, fours.
CalGA111 wins $42.80 from the main pot with three of a kind, fours.

Was I just getting greedy?

My opinion.

You're in the pot to hit the hand you did. Not losing a lot of money here would probably have been bad play.

I'd be pretty surprised if there was somebody with cards capable of making that straight still in, although you have to consider it, you're a little stuck at this stage.

Set over set is a respectable way to lose a lot of money. Although he's shown willingness to call you down, you're obviously confident of being in front and thus pushing the river seems ligitimate.

Bad position on the flop. I would suggest raising there anyway though.

No way you're checking behind there. Maybe not going all in, but you're not checking behind on the river. Make a value bet, and if someone raises, call.

You want to make a bet small enough so that TP will still call. IF they raise you, they might have two pair or just REALLY like their top pair; either way, you should call.

But set over set...life just sucks when that happens if you ahve the lower set.

Rippy --

I never checked, I just didn't reraise.

I didn't reraise because I wanted the PFR to reraise. It just didn't pan out that way.

I don't know that I"ve ever checked a set into a suited flop. At least not in recent history.
