SB had JJ and he told UTG what he had. UTG tells him to fold. He probably would have folded anyway but he was really thinking about it. Is this cheating or no? just curious..... I can't decide. This talking went on when the river K hit.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (4 handed)

SB (t800)
BB (t1825)
UTG (t4160)
Hero (t1215)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 3s, 7d.
UTG raises to t100, Hero folds, SB calls t75, BB folds.

Flop: (t250) Qs, 6h, Qc (2 players)
SB checks, UTG bets t50, SB calls t50.

Turn: (t350) Qd (2 players)
SB checks, UTG bets t50, SB calls t50.

River: (t450) Ks (2 players)
SB checks, UTG bets t500, SB folds.

Final Pot: t950

Results in white below:
UTG has Ah Kh (full house, queens full of kings).
Outcome: UTG wins t950.

Yes, I think it's cheating. Contact Party Poker support and find out if they think it's cheating also.

Sounds like a case of mind games. However, if these guys do, in fact, have a history of playing at the same table often (and it would be very easy for PP to see if this is the case) then I would say that it is cheating. Collution, if you will.

There is an article in cardplayer. It appeared in vol.17/No.19 Sept, 10,2004. Harrington is the cover shot. You can probably find the article in the onine archives... infact here is the page...for everyone who doesn't wish to take the time to look it up. It will likely lead you to conclude that this is cheating.

Seems like cheating to me. Even if it's not, it's your responsibility as a player to protect your assets, and should be questioned and brought to the attention of the director.

DavSimon is an unknown quantity at this point
Whether it is cheating or not is really not for us to decide...(although we have our opinions) give it to PP support and let them deal with it. It is in their best intrest to look into all of these cases..and it is in everyones best intrest to report suspected collusion...even if it later turns out to be nothing. It was enough of a doubt for you to be suspicious...so I say shoot them the hand history.

Hi all. I am 90% certain that wasn't collusion. People who colludes usually don't use the table chat to tell each other what they have. And if people are really cheating they usually do it so poorly they still lose. Those who are good at cheating are harder to spot. Obvious colluders often gets caught and if they don't get caught they often get broke.

Just because they may cheat poorly, doesn't mean they aren't cheating. They might not have even thought of it as cheating. The ones who get caught, get caught because they are stupid about it. Everyone knows online poker rooms are full of not so smart ones.

Yes but do you allways consider table trash talk as cheating? I mean if he allways uses the chat to tell his buddy what his cards are when they are heads up it might be considered cheating. But he could have been trying to provoke a call as well. Anyone using the client chat for collusion is so retarded that he should not be allowed to play for real money. If that was the case maybe it was cheating but I'd rather have two idiot cheaters in my game than two non-cheating good ones.

Of course not, but it could be, and that is why if it makes you suspicious it should be checked out by the site's director.

I don't think its cheating unless they are colluding.

I will sometimes tell someone thinking of calling my allin what I'm holding, but it's usually a situation where I have something like a flopped straight w/2 to a flush, I don't want someone drawing out on me in a tourney, and letting them know they are behind can push them towards folding.

it's not cheating at all unless they are actually colluding. But if it is collusion, they are definitely cheating.
