Hahaha this exact situation just happened to me. Is it a Pokerstars disease or something? Not like he was gonna win a big pot, but at least try.

i can explain the play to you.
When you flop a monster like that against people in the blinds like that, its rare your going to get paid. After all, you have the deck crippled. I would have done the EXACT same thing, and this is why:
1) I Know the guy is just testing the waters with maybe a queen or underpair, and i know he wont call any re-raise, at MOST i can probably get $2 more out of him, so let me think, try to get $2 more out of this guy OR

set up a table image. Already in this post there is about 4-5 people saying why would anyone do that? Why wouldn't i do that against 1 person who i know has nothing and wont call anything? Because of this people will think im THE finding Nemo. if you plan to stick around the table image, and how you can go on to abuse it (providing your skilled) is well worth more then the $2. It's a smart play by him i think, if that was what he was indeed going for, but you have to be certain the guy doesnt have anything worthwhile, otherwise it's a lost bet.

Maybe he just wanted to be sure to get a showdown.

Why not at least a minraise, though?
If I had a hammer
I'd drop in the morning
I'd drop in the evening..
