This guy was loose preflop but he seemed like a decent player. The reason I'm passive in this hand is because I want somebody to hit two pair. It seems obvious that he has a 2 but he could have 66, especially from his table talk. So then I think about my kicker.

Good fold. He could have 99/JJ too.

99 and JJ are not betting less than half the pot on the flop when they have an overpair and 2 hearts on the board.....

Yup. It looks like, "OMG I'M OVERBETTING I'M BLUFFING YOU BLUFF BLUFF BLUFF!!!!1," when he really has the absolute nuts here, or close to it. He's just hoping you want an expensive ride to the cleaners.

So far i dont think ive ever seen someone lie about having a good hand.
If he says he has the nuts and whacks in a massive bet i think he probably does.

Fold

Edit: If he was bluffing you hell be so proud hell show you his cards anyway and you can take notes
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

There's no way this call can be correct unless the guy is an extreme lag.

The pot is way too small for it to be a discussion. If he does have a deuce your kicker is crap. I recently played a 400NL hand when I was headsup in bb with 2T and flop was 228. Turn was T and opponent made a huge overbet. I was stupid enough to call it and sure enough he flipped over 88.

However the last card was a deuce. ._.

I'd fold here absent of a read, you don't have much invest into the pot and you can only really beat a bluff. I'm sure he knows that you have a two since you could have anything in the BB, so he's probably banking on you not being able to lay your trips down. I bet that he has 66 though, that's just how 66 would play the hand. He makes a small bet on the flop, slightly bigger on the turn, and on the river he knows you have a duece and pushes.

He claimed he had 23 but that's after I told him I had 28. I think he had 66.
