Pretty boring table. I just busted out the action.
Is straight forward not the best approach at this level? Should I juice the pot pre-flop?

Flop: ($5) 4, 3 , 7 (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Fnord bets $5, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds.
Final Pot: $10

Looks standard, juicing the pot? Unless PFR with low pp causes someone to hit TPTK, h/o let me consult my PP Cracked... Yes, juice the pot if you're in the 7th Cash Out Cycle.
I like to limp um PF, especially in EP

When i have position against tight players i like to raise 3x the bb and bet the pot when i miss. If you've got horrible calling stations beside you then i wouldn't try this, but if you think betting the pot on the flop is +EV then i think its good to raise.

Probably no way to get any real money here. I might bet less just to keep someone with overcards in the hand. My standard bets are 2/3 - 3/4 pot anyway, which encourages a little more action. Do you always bet the pot?

Wouldn't it be a better idea to check the flop hoping for a high card to hit the turn then betting. If someone has that high card they'll play right back at you. Or you could take the small pot :P

When the pot is small like that, I just about always pot it out to balance out the times I flat out buy it or have to protect a hand.

You've got to mix it up once in a while but on a flop like that I would minraise and hope to trap the guy holding KA. Straight play is nice because some will think you may be stealing pots and the next time you run up against TPTK with your set, you can look for a nice raise to call.

bet smaller on the flop to get action.. if it was a raised pot preflop, you would get action on a flop sized bet.
2/3 of the pot bet might have gotten a caller.
if someone hits their hand on the turn, your going to be paid.. unless of course someone hit a straight, but you still have outs to a boat.

i concur... on that ragged flop, throw out a tiny bet to 1.) provoke a raise 2.) keep the high cards chasing. (Doesn't look like you fear anything, so checking may be possible too, let someone else take a stab at it.) Then I usually bet bigger on the turn regardless of what comes. But like dale said, I don't think anything exciting was going to happen in that hand anyway...

I also think a mini-raise would be the best option. Best case is you get a reraise, but you will also get people calling with overs. Therefore if they hit there top pair you get paid out more, and if they dont you still get a little from there chasing.

I've stopped weak betting to induce a bluff. It only works when they have a better hand.
