My reasoning is this.

By checking the turn, I make it look like I was the one who was drawing.

Now, 4 things could happen:

1.) Villian is Drawing and the draw hits.

2.) Villian is Drawing and the draw misses.

3.) Villian is not-drawing and the draw hits.

4.) Villian is not-drawing and the draw misses.

I bet the pot on the river, either way.

1.) Looks like I hit my draw. Does he have a high flush. If so i get paid.

2.) He will fold.

3.) He will fold.

4.) If he figures me for a draw. He will call with anything.

If I bet the turn i could scare drawers and weaker hands away.

i pot the turn and try to get the bet out as fast as i can, usually flush draws will call hoping to hit and stack hands like AQ/AJ

And also, by betting you give lots of hands and draws opportunity to make mistakes which should be the only thing you focus on when playing at stakes of this nature (not an insult)

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.
