weird, I lead flop for $1.25. As played I fold turn, against a passive donk this is j7,67,qj alot. The only other hand that would make sense is 89 or possibly 810 also.
"This sure beats Super Mario Bros.!" is my ejaculation catch phrase.

I definitely bet flop. We have TP vs. a horrible player that calls too much on a flop that contains very wide calling ranges for our villain. As played, I think turn is a sigh and fold. Betting flop makes things much easier imo.

bet flop

looks like our slow play on the flop worked!

is it too sick to consider villain as holding the only other two eights in the deck? that would be so sick...

Top pair is usually good on the flop with just 1 player and the blinds gotta lead out so at least u get some information. The thing that is odd is that the raise is so large. With the checked flop he could of had a 9-8 and hit 2-pair on the turn. If it is me i reraise the turn a 2.5x-3x and fold to a reraise. If he just calls we still have 4 outs to boat up and probably stack off.
