Hey all, first post here -- pretty much a beginner. I've been thinking hard about this recent hand which sent me reeling a bit. I think I misplayed some of the way through, and especially on the river. Thoughts?

Reads: SB is 18/12 over about 50 hands, not too aggressive after the flop.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($8.55)
MP1 ($10.55)
MP2 ($8.85)
MP3 ($3.20)
CO ($9)
Button ($6.50)
SB ($11.70)
Hero ($8.80)
UTG ($12.15)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6, A.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.10, 5 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($0.30) 6, A, 3 (3 players)
SB bets $0.1, Hero raises to $0.4, UTG+1 folds, SB calls $0.30.

Turn: ($1.10) A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.8, SB calls $0.80.

River: ($2.70) 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.5, SB raises to $5, Hero raises to $7.50 (All-In), SB calls $2.50.

Final Pot: $17.70

I feel I should've played the flop and turn harder, and the river blew my mind... anything else?

honestly cant see too much wrong with it tbh, if he had 88 or A8 laugh it off and move on.

being picky i prob raise to .5 on flop, make it 1$ on turn and get it in on the river ... all in all this prob should be in a different section

I think you played it well

wtf? This is fine, of course. Only one hand beats you on the river so just get it all in and be happy about it. Sometimes you are just going to get coolered.

LOL, I guess I was a little too overcritical. Thanks for the input!

88? 88 doesn't beat him.

No, but A8 does. If that happens to be the hand he had and you lost, then there isn't much you can do. Like pretty much everyone else has said, laugh it off and carry on. He probably would've called you with any Ace regardless of what you bet on the turn, so it's just unlucky that you got bum-raped on the river?
There's only one system. Bet. Lose. Borrow. Steal. Lose. Take the drugs. Lose. Prison. Death.
