Been trying to get back to playing. Nothing to crazy, just 25nl.

Only one hand of note:

UTGB is a rock on the nitty side, pretty aggresive postflop. MP3 is standard TAgg, and very firey post flop. SB is your standard PS 25 nl fishy, I guess.

I didn't post hands becuase I am UTGB and I want to know what hands you put me, MP3 and SB on.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP3 ($28.40)
CO ($27.75)
Button ($23.75)
SB ($13)
BB ($6.55)
UTG ($28.85)
UTGB ($33.60)
MP1 ($40.05)
MP2 ($23.60)

Preflop:
1 fold, UTGB raises to $1, MP1 calls $1, 1 fold, MP3 calls $1, 2 folds, SB calls $0.90, 1 fold.

Flop: ($4.25) 7, A, T (4 players)
SB checks, UTGB bets $2, MP1 folds, MP3 raises to $4, SB calls $4, UTGB raises to $8, MP3 calls $4, SB calls $4.

Turn: ($28.25) 4 (3 players)
SB checks, UTGB bets $12, MP3 raises to $19.4, SB calls $4 (All-In), UTGB yet to act...

Also, if you see 500lbgorilla on Pstars, plz stay away from my table unless you're a super fish.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.

You have AQ or AK , but villain flopped a flush. You thought he was semi bluff raising you on the flop with one high spade, so made it 3-bets. He let you know he really flopped a flush on the turn.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I put MP3 on AT and SB on the K but it turned out that MP3 had AQ no spade and SB had AT no spade, Im wondering if my line looked like K K

Basically, what would possess MP3 who didnt seem to have many screws loose to attack me in this pot.

Maybe even a small made flush.

Your flop + turn action makes it 100% clear you hit this flop hard and want to play a big pot.

Why the hell would you 3-bet the flop to build a pot in this spot? You got to figure you're 2nd or 3rd best here and the min-raise priced you in nicely. I don't see any fold equity here either.

if you did this to me, i'm thinking along the lines of aa/ak/kqs/tt type of thing. i would think my aq is a winner approximately 0% of the time.

but you didn't ask me what I thought you had, you asked why he was playing back at you. what you were doing this with obviously didn't enter his mind.

This is what i was going for, I wanted MP3 to fold and SB to make the weak call beat to the draw.

Yah, that's why I couldnt believe that the guy had AQ no spade. I had to figure he put me on KK becuase no other hand made sense.

I had played him in some pots the day before and he seemed good, but maybe it was just a combination of the right actions at the right times that threw me off when i ran into him today.

rilla,

some observations:

1) It looks like you hit the flop really hard. It's impossible to put you exactly on a hand, but based on your flop 3-bet, I'd say it looks like a set, T2P (unlikely since your a nit and I doubt you would ever raise ATs preflop from this position, but possible), made flush (possibly with RF draw), AxKs, maybe even something like AxQs or KsKx, who knows.

2) your bets are really weak and it's painfully obvious (to me at least), that you're trying to build the pot with a huge hand.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP3 ($28.40)
CO ($27.75)
Button ($23.75)
SB ($13)
BB ($6.55)
UTG ($28.85)
Hero ($33.60)
MP1 ($40.05)
MP2 ($23.60)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A, K.
1 fold, Hero raises to $1, MP1 calls $1, 1 fold, MP3 calls $1, 2 folds, SB calls $0.90, 1 fold.

Flop: ($4.25) 7, A, T (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2, MP1 folds, MP3 raises to $4, SB calls $4, Hero raises to $8, MP3 calls $4, SB calls $4.

Turn: ($28.25) 4 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $12, MP3 raises to $19.4, SB calls $4 (All-In), Hero folds.

River: ($63.65) 8 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $63.65

Results in white below:
SB has Th Ad (two pair, aces and tens).
MP3 has Ah Qc (one pair, aces).
Outcome: SB wins $40.25. MP3 wins $23.40.

His min raise on the flop and SB's actions didnt scare me since I knew SB was a fishy and he was aggro. I was trying to stay the aggressor and make him make it painfully obvious to me when I was beat, on the turn, when he pushes with AQ and no folding equity, I have to assume I'm beat, right?

People aren't predictable enough to fold pretty good hands getting 9:1 IMHO.

push > bet/fold

Avoid putting yourself in spots to make close/cute laydowns.

No it's cool. When I first started playing poker and came to this site I thought 'Rilla was the end-all to poker and reveared him the most. Of course then he went bust and stopped playing or however the story goes. But the point is now the FTR universe feels a little more balanced again...

if MP3 is reasoanble here, i think the sb is more to worry about cold calling a miniraise rather than MP3's aggression.
Im not sure if you cant get away from it however.

rilla,

If you're going to bet this turn, just push. Quite frankly, betting $12 and then folding getting 9:1 is just awful.
