why did you fold on the flop in hand #1? should have probably raised but atleast called and i guess hand #2 is just bad luck...nothing you can really do you played it right...next time you stack them.

1 is seriously read dependant, my defaut at 10nl would be go for it and call, c/r turn.

hand 2 is fine.

It was my fourth or fifth hand at the table, so no reads. I'm always afraid of sets, though; probably something I should get over.

I'm all-in in hand #1 and feel pretty good whenever I get called or not.

Hand 1 looks like he has a pair of 9's or maybe and over pair and thinks you have a pair of nines. A set is possible, but if he has a set there, I would probably pay him off.

Call hand 1 on the flop
You wouldn't have posted hand 2 if you had won

I would always pay him off in hand 1. get it in somewhere. At 10NL you should not be looking for sets so that you can fold your AA. You should be looking for people that want to get it in vs your overpair. If the 10NL game is no longer at the point where felting overpairs (especially AA) is a license to print money, then the game is in some serious trouble.

hand 2 is a prime example of this. look at the crap hand he had. he called the flop bet with a gutter, and the turn AI with a gutter and bottom pair. that one was well played by you.
