Please read the hand history and feel free to break out into hysterical laughter.

SPhilly posts the small blind of $.10.
SoonerAlum posts the big blind of $.25.

moiraine57: 3c 3h
BigTip: -- --
usfkdave: -- --
ProlapsedAnus: -- --
juker45: -- --
SPhilly: -- --

Pre-flop:

vman22 folds. dgr71 calls. varmit calls.
moiraine57 calls. BigTip folds. usfkdave calls.
ProlapsedAnus folds. juker45 calls. SPhilly calls.
SoonerAlum checks.

Flop (board: 8d Td 3d):

SPhilly checks. SoonerAlum checks. dgr71 bets $1.
varmit folds. moiraine57 raises to $2.50. usfkdave
folds. juker45 folds. SPhilly folds. SoonerAlum
folds. dgr71 calls.

Turn (board: 8d Td 3d 5d):

dgr71 goes all-in for $15.30. moiraine57 goes all-in
for $10.50. dgr71 is returned $4.80 (uncalled).
My thoughts here:

Somehow in this hand, I convinced myself that dgr71 was bluffing. Here was my reasoning:

He smooth called me after my raise on the flop. That means one of three things:
a) he flopped a monster and is trying to slow-play
b) he flopped a drawing hand (draw to nut flush)
c) he has a little something -something but the 3 diamonds on the board are making him nervous

I put the odds on a) to be slim. After all, I re-raised...the typical move would be to re-raise me right back. After all, why slow-play when I show I like my hand and possibly have a flush myself? Get my money right there on the flop.

Therefore, after the flop, I was equally torn between b and c. When the diamond came on the turn and he instantly went all in, I went into the tank. I finally discounted b, based on this reasoning: if he just made the nut hand on the turn, why put me all-in? Why make a bet where I will not call? Why not make a token bet (another dollar or two)? After all, I signaled I liked my hand on the flop...why not wait for me to go over the top and then put me all in? The all-in seemed way too fishy to me.

AND....I also figured I had some outs, even if my read was erroneous. But I honestly didn't think it was.

These were all thoughts I had while I convinced myself he was totally and utterly bluffing.

River (board: 8d Td 3d 5d 5h):

(no action in this round)

Showdown:

dgr71 shows Ad Tc.
dgr71 has Ad 8d Td 3d 5d: flush, ace high.
moiraine57 shows 3c 3h.
moiraine57 has 3c 3h 3d 5d 5h: full house, threes full of fives.
I won the hand, and dealt a pretty big suckout (I was only 20% to win when my money went in the middle)....so I'm not complaining about that. I just can't believe I was so totally off base.

I realize how much of a suckout I am sometimes in situations like that when I look at my histories on Party that actually show what the guy had a showdown when he doesn't show. Oh well :P

i think its an easy fold when he pushes with 4 to the flush on the board.. the stakes are too low to consider his move a bluff here.

He's not bluffing, and I'm folding there. Ugly - but congrats on winning the pot.
