my default 'd0zerbot' move in that situation is basically how you've played it, though I am often apprehensive about leading into a 3-way. I probably shouldn't be such a pussy....

this is not a good flop to bet. button and UTG often hves small cards in this spot, be a pair or whatever. C/fold

check the flop! this hits their range harder than a ton of bricks. all sc's and mid pp's, and with the odds you are giving them, how can they fold?

I play the same way you did but I think I'm a spewy bastard and these guys are right about the flop hitting their range.

Edit: Except I'd bet $5.50-$6 into that pot.
