funny...your name changes from Borax to Lendbor in the middle of the hand

I would have assumed you were beat when he reraised your pot sized bet on the flop. What could he have reraised with that you could beat? Maybe you should have folded there.

I agree. It smells like 2 pair or a set on the flop, either one you are losing to at that point.

Yes, I guess so. I had no good read on the player either, but the table had been betting many medium hands pretty hard and I had just bagged a nice pot against a K8 flopping a K, with my KJ, based on this knowledge. I think it's easy to get too optimistic at tables like this. Need to improve on self control there

i would say lacking a read in general you're better getting out of hands earlier with aggression shown against you. unless you're willing to fork out a good chunk of your stack to find out why they were raising/betting.

 its always hard to play at tables where top pair will often get a lot of action, because then you can never tell the difference between someone who is playing crap and someone who isn't. its just a risk you take. that turn card was a killer. I think you did fine myself. if he had a full stack and was throwing bigger raises around, ok, but losing half a buy-in on 2 pair to a set is nothing to be ashamed of.

If the money was deeper I'd tell you to fold pre-flop.

I think calling the flop raise is pretty bad. If you can't re-raise then fold.

ok - I should probably have folded to his raise on the flop.
but when the Q comes on the turn it's pretty hard not to play on.
His betting could indicate any two pair as well as AK besides a possible set, so i think my bet on the turn was ok.
