Hello guys,
This is my first post on this forum, though I have been reading on it for a while. I really like this site. I'm a beginning poker player trying to learn, and I play 0.05/0.10$ on pokerstars atm...Anyway, I have a game where I'm not sure how I should have played it and I would like some comments..
In this game I have an AQ, I raise preflop, 2 people call, the flop is low cards, I raise again, one caller. Here I was hoping they would all fold, and now I am worried that the caller has a pair, perhaps its someone with ace+low card. So because I'm worried I dont bet on the turn, which is another low card, he checks too, then on the river there is a queen. Now I have TPTK and I bet, he raises, I call, and it turns out he hit a flush on the river.
I'm thinking perhaps I should have raised on the turn but if he did have a low pair that wouldn't have been very good. How should I have played this?

There's a few mistakes in this.
1) If you wan't them to fold on the flop then you need a bigger bet then that. Try 2/3 the pot. The bet you mak is really weak and anyone who is drawing to the flush is getting odds. Not many people can fold to continuation bets at 10nl so be careful who you make them against.
2) The turn check is fine
3) The river bet is fine too, weaker hands will call this a good % of the time. When he raises and you reconsider his actions throughout the hand, it is plain as day that he has the flush. You should try and learn to fold hands like this in the future.
And welcome to FTR.

C bets are the best against 1 opponent and they have to be 2/3 to 3/4 pot but dont forget if your floped an A or Q bet 3/4 as well for two reasons: protect your C bets in the future and keep the pot low since it is only 1 pair.
