I've dropped $40 on .05/.10 today and I'm wondering if it's all just down to some unlucky breaks, or if I'm making mistakes.

For this hand, since you got to see your straight for cheap, your play is fine. On the river, I would have pushed all in as well, as anyone with a hand that you beat has little no folding equity left after that bet, and you do have a hand that is worth of pushing with.

Reraise, you played it right.
He is just trying to make you tilt.
I just reciently ended a nasty downswing myself.
You can start second guessing yourself... You can start playing scared or tilting in other ways so keep an eye on yourself... It can be hard to keep raising big with your set after the 10th time in a row that you lose to runner-runners... but just stay on game and keep at it.

Fold preflop.
Played well to river, river is an automatic push.
