At the time, I didn't have any reads on villain. The only thing I took into account was that villain raised $1 utg without much hesitation... not sure if that's saying anything but that's what I observed.

What would you do?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Button ($48.75)
SB ($21.40)
BB ($30.95)
UTG ($66.10)
Hero ($38.85)
CO ($19.25)

Preflop: Hero is MP with K, Q. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
UTG raises to $1, Hero calls $1, 3 folds, BB calls $0.75.

Flop: ($3.10) 8, Q, 3 (3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $3, Hero calls $3, BB folds.

Turn: ($9.10) A (2 players)
UTG bets $7, Hero....?

I agree, although I don't think a call on the flop is necessarily bad.

I'm not calling that turn though. If you are going to raise, you might as well hold 27 there.

Yeah probably should have folded the turn. I don't think raising the flop would have worked in this case though, he probably would have smooth called and then checked the turn to fool me into thinking I'm ahead.

Here's what happened:

Preflop: Hero is MP with K, Q. SB posts a blind of $0.10.

Flop: ($3.10) 8, Q, 3 (3 players)

Turn: ($9.10) A (2 players)
UTG bets $7, Hero calls $7.

River: ($23.10) K (2 players)
UTG bets $13, Hero calls $13.

Final Pot: $49.10

Results in white below:
UTG has Ah Ac (three of a kind, aces).
Hero has Ks Qs (two pair, kings and queens).
Outcome: UTG wins $49.10.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the K hit the river, I was actually thinking about raising but I'm so glad I didn't. I realized that there were too many likely hands that beat me- AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ, so I decided to just call. I guess if I had folded the turn none of this would have happened though

I don't hate the flop call. I probably call here since I have position or fold if villian has been playing very tight, but I think the turn is an easy fold (not trying to be results oriented). What do you beat on the turn? If you somehow called the turn bet, I would fold the river. Do you think AJ/AT takes this line? And raising the river is just suicide.

Calling the turn (without a LAgg read) is horrible. Raising is fine, folding is probably better.

Raise the flop
Fold the flop, seen as opp is either coming back at you or will cold call and love the turn that gives you nighmares.
After that it just got plain ugly
