i would reraise pf to about 4 or 5, unless utg+1 is an absolute nit. THat makes it much eaiser to get it ai on the flop and turn

I would really like to see Hero re-raise preflop here.

Yeah, I thought about the reraise but UTG+1 was like 12/2 I think , thus I put him on AK/AA/KK most likely, so was hoping to hit a set on the flop or see no A/K on it rather than get AI if he re-raised me when I was most probably 80/20 or at best 45/55.

With no help there I decided to see where I was at with the re-raise and was willing to let it go but with him just calling I figured that I was ahead.

That also is why I led out so heavily on the turn since I figured it didn't help any of them but didn't want to give odds to draw for the flush.

Greed, what would you put villan on though that would be so passive up until that river, calling pot-sized bets all the way with, that I could beat with a (now) underpair?

As people have said I would most likely reraise preflop. If you are betting this turn, which I probably would, why arent you pushing? On the river with $4 left you are getting like 13:1 on your call, just call here and make a note not to leave yourself so little for the river.

Yeah, agree there Andy, I should have just pushed the turn.

When the K hit and he pushed I was resigned to the fact he'd either been slow-playing a set or had hit his K, but if he had the set he would have just reraised me AI on the turn.

I did actually think about laying it down, but as you say he was giving me about 13:1 and I figured wth was another $5 really if I was going to have to reload anyway.

He showed 5s6s......

[EDIT]
I mean it was a decent enough spot to try a bluff on me really, but now when I had so little left behind in a pot that large so I don't quite understand it.

Again though, if I had pushed on the turn like I should have, then I wouldn't have had a decision to make I guess...then again, I most likely wouldn't have gotten paid off either, so I'm still unsure if pushing would have been the right play but I shouldn't have even had to think about laying it down on the turn if I didn't push either.

if you hadnt played it badly preflop then it would have played totally different post flop.

mp2 suuuuuuuuuuuuucks. He'd have called a turn push because obviously you're bluffing overcards. And imo pf isnt bad since utg+1 is a rock. just post that in the hand history next time. and like said above, overbetting is gold against fish like this.

I'll never understand why people are so passive with QQ and JJ preflop and then turn into a chip-spewing spaz postflop when their hands get worse.

reraise preflop the vast majority of the time here against all but the nittiest of nits. As played, jam the flop a lot harder. We're getting better then 10:1 on this river, is this even a question? Of course call.
