Another hand. I am posting these because I dont know if it just my play/betting causing this, or am I just on a really bad run right now. Cant seem to do anything right at all.

I have a read on villain here - he is loose passive (fishy), raising 6xbb with any PP down to 22 and any 2 paint cards. If he hits the flop, he re-raises big, and usually just goes all in if he hits trips. Figured on this flop, with the way he reacted to my bet that I had him beat. I was worried about any big cards coming that he could pair up and so I wasnt thinking about the strt.

How could I have played this differently?

check/fold that river. if u bet, u will only get called by a hand that beats you. if they have been calling with a pair higher than 88 or a Q in hand or even on a straight draw, your beat.

jackvance is an unknown quantity at this point
Pot is $15. Betting $4 really is saying: "Ok guys, I got nothing." (got this from a friend of mine who beats 100NL)

I bet the flop harder than that with any two after I raise preflop.

Agree with check/folding the river. Any hand you beat is going to check behind. Lots of hands call.

check fold flop

I don't mess around with second pair in a three way full ring raised pot.

Sure, your read was correct and you were ahead this time, but most of the time it just isn't, and you just aren't.

Why you bet into a river that wheels any ace is beyond me. One of the easiest laydowns IMO against someone who chases overcards.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Not OOP three ways.

Heads up or in position, I bet out every time, but when I limp a pair OOP I am looking to hit a set and that is all.

Rondavu, you are right, I should seen the Ax beating me here.

The reason I bet the flop was actually to save money in that I KNEW that if he hit that Q or had overpair he would re-raise, because thats what this guy was doing all night. So I figure the flop bet would tell me if he hit that Q or a set there.

Now after reading some responses, I am thinking a bet of about $8-$10 on that flop and then check it down the rest of the way if hea calls that.

Shoulda seen that straight........

Problem with that is if I saw you bet 4 dollars in to a 15 dollar pot I'd raise you with any 2 because you'd fold for the precise reason you said you would.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

Would you do that if I bet $10 on that flop?

But this guy I KNEW would not reraise ANY flop bet if he didnt have TP or hit a set. I have the read on this particular player.

But I'd still ike to know what you would have done if I bet $10

I'm not sure what else to say beyond move down a limit. Not seeing 2345 on the board is not OK. If you can't read the board, 50NL still has plenty you can learn. I'm trying not to be harsh, I feel bad that you're throwing money away.

I think my game is just off right now, with missing that strt. It was late and I was just ending my session when this hand came up - I probably should have stopped a 1/2 hour earlier.

When I started this little losing streak, I moved down to $50. Played for an hour and a half, won $106.00. bb/100 was 118 in PT - lol.

I have killed 50nl, thats how I built most of my bankroll. I am determined to get my head straight, my game in order and play this level.
