hmm...the date for this HH seems to be today...
shouldn't you be studying? :P
That being said, I don't think that you have to worry about being outkicked with trips in a shorthanded game.

Pretty clear to me that he had a good ace and didn't think you had shit (let alone the j) because you were probably playing your normal, super-aggro style, and it took multiple scary minraises to convince him that he was going to have to beat trips here. The difference between a solid and a weak-tight/tilted player is that, even though he knows you're aggressive, he doesn't just dump it all in with the ace, but raises you multiple times to buy the information. This is exactly the kind of pot that gets huge because of aggressive play -- even if it becomes a big scarier when you are taking money from solid opponents. Nh.

Goodplay your opponent, probably holdin a A, must have checked you out by reraising you, checking his starting money he probably had won somebefore and wanted to be sure of you holding that J against his A
I would have betted my house if I was holding a J there. Youre opponent should probably have betted more preflop if he was holdin AA so a win win situation here
