Post-flop looks like total spew to me.

Stop trying to take down 4-way raised pots with ace high until you have a better understanding of the game.

First you cbet the flop weakly in a pack of four players, on a board that totally missed you. Then having narrowed the field down to the guy who most likes his hand, you fire a second weak bullet having not improved at all on the turn. So, to answer your question, no this is not the way to play AK.

yeah, i have to agree w/ the spewage. I hated all the callers on my raise. Should I not c-bet here. I pretty much c-bet 90 percent of the time.

After he called the c-bet, I should NOT have put any more chips in the pot. Would that be a better line?

is my thinking correct?

thanks

This should be one of those 10% situations where you don't cbet.

So the C-bets should be 2/3 + of the pot?
Do you think the raise was standard or should it be "a little" more?
And if you do a pot size c-bet, how often do you fire a second barrel (2/3+) at an unknown?

thanks

My cbets are generally 2/3-3/4 pot, whether I hit the flop or not.

PF? I would make it $1.50, but that's nitpicky.

I rarely make pot-sized bets on the flop, whether I connect or not, the exception being if I make TP on a heavy drawing board. I'm generally not a fan of second barrels at the lower levels, certainly not without a very solid read. $$ is made at low stakes by exploiting people's tendency to stick with marginal hands like top pair, not by trying to push people off their made hands.

i think c-betting is an overused tactic by players in bad situations who dont knwo why its bad. 10% perhasp even 30% doesnt represent this number enough. Having said that, there are plays they dont use that could take down pots with only ace high too.

If id played this aggro then id raise to 1.5 preflop, 1.25 is fine and then pretty much potted it repping AA. Anyone who calls prob has us beat or is a calling station and seen as we got 4 callers i dont want to rep AA 4handed without it to be honest.
