Looks fine against a maniac. I bet the flop more than 1/2-pot, but that's about it.

OK just wondered how I did.

I got nailed by K8o and wondered if I shoulda bet less after the flop or on the turn to a call. or what, no use second guessing I suppose.

Infamous, yea in hindsight I suppose I shoulda bet like 3.5 or 4 and if called or raised I can be pretty sure Im behind right ?

honestly I think villian woulda called anyway.
said he had 5:1 pot odds was the only reason he called, I kinda doubt that.

thanks for the help

if anyone wants to find me go to VARIANCE HELL....

Raise raise raise pf. You don't want to be playing OOP against multiple villains, so I would have made it $5 to go. $2.50 isn't gonna fold anyone...you allowed too many hands to see the flop and you paid the price.

you just overplayed TPTK, sometimes your raise size is good sometimes not. with AKs you can afford to let people in but not if you play TPTK on this board like this.

You can lead the flop since you are so OOP, but I give up after that. check/fold or check/call a small flop bet isn't that bad either.

He may call anyway but you want to punish him for the times the flop doesn't hit him in the face.

Just remember it's a long term game.

OK

I figure I shoulda bet a little more PF..
I didnt because I had bet 5-6 times and no one had even called a 2$ raise
then I have FOUR callers.

As to overplaying TPTK...

OK I want a bet by bet on this.
if im gonna wuss bet this I may as well save my money. I bet a buck or even $2.5 into a 12$ pot im just giving EVERYONE drawing odds for any hand. If I check the turn someones betting big regardless....
so im interested in how I shoulda handled this hand.

as I see it from early position I may as well limp it and see if I hit a flush/straight/boat/2 pair or a draw to one of those and then bet.

I dont know if im getting this accross but betting on these little tables with wuss bets is just asking to fold every hand to a bluff. Check and call?
how much ? half pot ? 1/4th pot? theres like 12$ in on the flop so $5.5
was 1/2 pot. now its $22 what do I bet or call here thats a reasonable bet. where do I fold this? if he bets after checked to? would you bet if you had anything and were checked to on the turn? well hell yea you would!

im not trying to be rude or arguemenative because I really wanna know what to do here. The whole hand woulda been different if there hadnt been $12 in on the flop! but there was. So how should I have played and represented strength?

I understand keeping the pot small with TPTK in normal hands where the pot on the flop is 5$ but what about situations where the starting pot is like this one 25% of a full buy-in on the flop?

BTW the RIver card was an ace so I was pretty much destined to be inthis pretty deep.

confused and trying to learn

KoRnholio will become famous soon enough
Against a half buyin maniac felting tptk (even on this board) doesn't seem so bad. I would pop it way more preflop though, in the $4 range. Taking down a $2 pot when out of position with just AK isn't a bad thing.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

not a horible play. dont be too results oriented. pop it up to $3.50 preflop and lead out for atleast 2/3 pot on that flop.

would be a limp PF be so bad???

with limper stats 50 VPIP wont we find ourselves facing 2+ opp OOP on flop. we only c/b when we hit.

This is a good point that I hadn't considerred. You didn't really overplay it here - I thought it was a 25NL table.
