Slow down faster? By the time my card came on the river, I suspected he had at least a 3 and was just trying to give me extra rope. Sufficient reason to suspect this on the flop? Looking at it now, a 3 is less likely, but perhaps TT?

This hand confuses me. Why did you stop when you finally got there and made the hand?

Jeff, when the board pairs usually the first one to bet takes it down.. wasnt in your case...

had a read on this player at all?

I would have put a pot size bet out on the river and give him credit for a flush if he hit...

I stopped because I was confident that I was beat. For some reason I expected a hand like A3, but it turned out that he indeed had TT.

I wasn't worried about the flush at all. And yes, I was hoping that I would take it by leading out on the flop and the turn. When I didn't, I figured him for having something slowplayable.

Checking on the river is a good way to hedge against the possibility that he was slow-playing something from the flop, which in this case seems likely. The only circumstance where betting seems to make any sense at all is if he had a pair of 10's, and even in this case he's likely to fold his hand anyways. So, checking seems better.

i personally check the turn too. don't see any drawing hands that he would call the flop bet with. i think you're pretty much dominated by anything he's calling that with.
