Just do it.

Seriously. Many FR players don't adjust, ever. Sure they may 3-bet a little lighter from the blinds against a habitual button stealer, but usually they just play their same basic game, they win in all the same spots, they lose in all the same spots. They 3-bet AK pf regardless of position (both theirs and the initial raisers), regardless of who the initial raiser is. Everyone is on autopilot.

A great example from yesterday. I have a complete monkey sitting on my right. 80/60 or something crazy like that, he wins a few pots and now he is sitting with over $200 at .5/1, min raising ATC from any position, and what did the table do to adjust? People started calling his minraises. Well, that's a start I guess. But no one iso-raised pf, no one went too far out of their way to take the money he was desperately trying to give away. (I posted a bunch of my hands vs. him in my op thread, so I won't repost them here).

Do people value bet him thinner since he is calling with any piece of the board, no. Do people call him down lighter, not really. It still took TPGK to get to showdown vs. him. Does anyone make outrageously large pf re-raises with big hands pf knowing full well he will call? Nope.

Everyone was playing "I can't wait until I hit a big hand against this guy to take all of his chips, I just hope no one else does as well at the same time, or takes them all before I get a chance to." Nobody was willing to put significant chips at risk to increase the likelihood that this guy was going to lose all of his chips to them.

Kinda went off on a tangent there. Anyways, I can't tell you how to adjust, I am still trying to learn that myself. I can tell you that you should be looking for tendencies in your opponents games and ways that you can exploit them. Sure, the uber-fish are pretty easy to adjust to (and profitable too), but over the long run if you can tailor your play to take advantage of some of the specific regs in your game, overall you will win more and lose less. Plus you will be a bitch to play against.

Find someone who C-bets too much but gives up on the turn (like me) and be more likely to float them. Find someone who is scared shitless of a 3-bet and do it mercilessly (me as well. Wow, I've got some holes in my game ). Find an opp who is too likely to call a raise while OOP, and give him every opportunity to do so. Don't 3-bet nits who raise from EP unless you hold AA or are likely to be multiway when you don't want to be (this one may be debatable, but I think you get more value out of your hands against a nit by calling in position against his tight range and playing postflop with more money behind).

Everybody has weak spots in their game. Find them and use them. You may find some in your own game that you didn't know were there along the way.

Agree 100%.

Once you´ve mastered a solid preflop game and cbet strat it´s all about handreading and adjusting. Playing some 10k hands HU will improve these skills significantly.
