I've been a little frustated lately at the nuber of times I make a flush and a player that I thought had a pretty strong hand refuses to pay me off. I recently switched to Prima and I think the players seem to be a little smarter. This is my solution to my smart player problem:
Hold 'em 0.10|0.20 No Limit - Cash Game
Scubamanspif sitting in seat 1 with $28.55
okgina seat 2 $27.50 [Dealer]
Tank999 seat 3 $13.30
xJAWSx seat 4 $29.90
bartmcc seat 5 $26.95
liujun888 seat 6 $1.25
alvin1978 seat 7 $1.30
playittig seat 8 $35.30
ezah seat 9 $12.30
Topdog10 seat10 $15.55
Tank999 small blind - $0.10
xJAWSx big blind - $0.20
Scubamanspif posted - $0.20
xJAWSx: 8h 9h
bartmcc folded
liujun888 folded
alvin1978 folded
playittig called - $0.20
ezah folded
Topdog10 called - $0.20
Scubamanspif checked
okgina called - $0.20
Tank999 called - $0.20
xJAWSx checked
** Dealing the flop: Kd 7d, 10s
Tank999 bet - $0.20
xJAWSx called - $0.20
playittig raised - $2.00
Topdog10 folded
Scubamanspif folded
okgina folded
Tank999 folded
xJAWSx called - $2.00
** Dealing the turn: 5 of Diamonds
xJAWSx bet - $3.80
playittig folded
xJAWSx mucks: 8h, 9h
xJAWSx wins $9.00 from the main pot
These guys are not as easily exploited as the players that pay off flushes but they are still exploitable. What do you think about this play?

As long as you play the real thing that way.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I don't know if you'd necessarily call the Prima players smarter, but there are more nut camping bonus whores. You usually don't see them until 50NL though.

perfect, it's very obvious you were on a draw on the flop and you exploited how obvious it seemed you were on a flush draw.
I'd show that.

Folding against me in this situation is the smart play. This time I had crap, but I usually have a flush in this spot. You're right there are alot of campers on Prima. I know my BB/100 is higher against the loose, chip spewing players at other sites like BoDog and Party. However, my variance is much lower on Prima and I love that. I can probably get away with a $750 bankroll for $50NL on Prima, where I'd need $1,000 on BoDog or Party. EV is not eveything, Variance is just as important.
Before poker I counted cards in blackjack. If EV was everything theorhetically I'd bet 1/4 of my bankroll evry time I had a 1% edge. But that would be ludacrous and I'd surely go broke. I used calculus to figure out how to maximize my EV while minamizing my variance. I came up with a system that gave me an acceptable risk of ruin and an acceptable rate of return given my bankroll. Very similar to a bankroll management system for poker.

play the 6max tables.
Play your hand with aggression in stead of passivly calling.
I dont think theyre are that many bonus whores on prima i just think that prima players dont like it when you get all aggro on the them. They either become calling stations or get out of the way. Theyre are seveeral obvious multitablers at most limits but you just dont sit at their tables if you can help it.
I just overplay the shit outta my hand on prima and watch table image do the rest.

I like the passive play on the flop in this scenario. Its cool because it allows you to represent both draws, even though you only have one. Good play against not smart but not dumb players.
This kinda reminds me of a scenario that I think is overlooked. There are often times where you have a decent hand or draw, but you could be playing a number of hands the same way. This gives you many many "outs" to represent and increases bluffing potential.
A simple example of this is when you make preflop raise with KQ as opposed to raising with AK. If the flop comes K or Q high, then you have a strong hand and can bet for value against most players. If the flop comes A high, then you have an extremely feasible card to represent. So basically, when you raise preflop with KQ, you have ten outs that can come on the flop and usually bail you out of the hand, where as when you raise with AK, you only have six.
Food for thought.
