Sorry but he had nothing. Maybe a fd or midpair. He felt this was a great way and card to bluff.

i don't think checking on the turn is good. Definitely, you should bet something and might fold to his shove.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

neither player can fold to a shove if they make a credible turn bet given stacks

Especially 25nl. Maybe not on Stars, but I see this on Tilt. For some reason I thought this hand was on Tilt. Dunno why. It shouldn't matter a whole lot, but the pot and max btns on Tilt provoke poor players to bluff like that more often.
Poor players think that board pairs are great cards to bluff, yet they're actually the opposite. Poor players especially aggro ones think that large peculiar bets are great ways to bluff as well. Most 33/17s with high AF aren't good enough to put on the thought process that protects his hand, and they are more likely to bluff at a scare card especially when shown weakness. Out of the blue overbetting isn't exactly value towning, and poor players tend to know that. I don't think I like a b/f either. It's more likely he has it then, but we're getting way better odds to call. Only having 25 hands on villian is a problem, but not too big. 100 hands is closer to what we want, but with 25 hands it's still likely that he's gonna look similar when at 100.

Midpair? In my experience there aren't too many fullstacks who will raise pf, then call a 3-bet with anything that'll give em' mid-pair on this board. Villain did have a history of PFRing KT, KQ, so given his call on the flop I didn't think it unreasonable to put him on a king. Maybe he had a flush draw but do you really feel that confident pegging villain as maniac with such a small sample?
I was in almost this same situation the other day, the trips came on the river, v pushed and had em'. ...wondering if that skewed my play here...

High pfr and he raised his btn. Lots of hands he can have, and may float with.
FWIW, I don't fold this on FT, but I dunno about PS.
Not supremely confident pegging villian as anything, but one thing is for certain, he's not good. Very few good players will have stats like that after 25 hands (I might, but I'm trixy). It's likely he's on the bad lag side.
As for your other hand, it sounds like it went down differently so my answer will be different.
