player analysis:
yoshhh making it 10.00 to go tells me he probably has a monster hand. I think that he is a solid player (23%VPIP/12%PFR/2.00 AF), hands were played well by him recently, and he is up a buyin so far.
Do I just smooth call the flop here, lead out on turn, check turn. What about the diamond draw. If he has a lower staight I need to get the money in now becasue nothing but danger cards will come for him...or does he have a set or two pair....How would you play it???
thanks

This is fine.
Calling will get you more money if the turn doesn't kill you... but if the turn pairs the board or is a diamond, you might be in trouble...

Why no 7 or 8? I'd think he'd love to see one of those. Did I miss something?

If villain doesn't have an 8 or a 7 then it kills hero's action.

Those are cards he'd like to see if he gets called on teh flop. When he gets played back at, he's probably facing two pair or 78, which are both crappified by those cards (78 with a 7 falling isnt bad, but he's not going to really want to get AI).
