villian is unknown but seems a bad player over a few observed hands. He repped little on flop & turn.my plan is c/c and call any non-ace river. How spewy is it? He actually though a while before shoving river.

What information are you leaving out that makes this not the average "I have a set" line?

What was his bet sizing in the previous hand?

Was it a limp/call, donk bet flop? or were you oop and checked the flop to him?

i was not involved in those observed unopened hands. His bet sizing was small when he stabbed at pots with air in position.I just had the feeling that he might be an aggressive donk but not too sure though. This is the reason i c/c with JJ on K turn and plan to call most rivers.

omg his range is polarized!

that just entitles us to correctly call down with anything resembling sd value!

edit: you should re-read your description of how you saw him play his air hands before and that should probably weight this instance to him having a legit hand. This calldown could be okay vs certain tag-fish but its hard to determine whether it would be correct or not in a thread because only you can really understand the true timing/game flow/history etc. all we can do is point you a certain direction given the evidence leading up to the hand.

I would think that for this to be a call he would have to be really spewy preflop and bluff raise flops with total air w/ no backdoor draws fairly often since a lot of the reasonable flop bluffing hands got there on the river. Seems like a pretty reasonable valueshove with Kx also

He's kinda bad, he thought for a while and then shoved a jack? I don't buy it.

I probably just get it in on the flop here, but as played I b/f turn... how did we get to this spot on the river? I guess if you can look back at the hand and try to figure out what our range is, we're at the top end so it's pretty exploitable to fold, but not if we just never play it like this again.

Live, this kind of passivity is fine because you can get max value from bluffing ranges more often when people are exhibiting physical tells. I really don't think this kind of line can be profitable online.

no one is value shoving a jack on the river here at 50nl unless they are really just clueless and mashing buttons.

we shouldn't lead the turn if he's just going to barrel all his air on it.

Looks like a very easy turn fold as it scares most of his outvalued range

i'm with dean. i also think you need to re-evaluate what rivers you call. i think that ace is probably one of the least scary cards...

I think CC down is fine if you have the read that he will bet away.

Folding flop vs a unknown who looks laggy? There is no way I can do that.

I'm hard pressed not to 3b get it in on the flop. My range is wide and you hafto be real nitty for me not to go broke with on overpair BvB.

i call this, i think ppl are putting him on way too tight a range.

QQ is 2nd pair technically but really its top pair, the K is just a bluffing card.
