My image was tight. Villain had min raised before with a medium pair on the flop.
On the turn I slow played the nuts ... which put me on a very bad position on the river.
Any J would kill me, however any T (except AT) and any flush would pay my raise on the river. What do you do?

First, don't limp this Pf. If you want to play it, raise. I fold this in your position but raise in 5th.

Flop bet fine.

Turn WTF? You have a boat and you want to get all your money in. How does checking facilitate that? At least pot the turn and hope he has something he wants to play with you.

River: Why are you check-raising? If he checks behind you have cost yourself a fortune on 2 streets. Anyway the raise is fine when it comes but his repop is pretty alarming.

His range is pretty wide and you have been passive. He may have Tx or the flush that just came in. You have to call $17 into a $17 pot. and I reckon 33% of the time he doesnt have a J here making this a call. If you think he has a J more than 66% of the time (and you'e the one playing with him) then it's a fold. You played the turn and river pretty awfully IMO. Slowplaying sucks
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

I agree with PF! I should have folded ...
On the turn, I should have bet about $4-5 (I have to stop slowplaying monsters!!!).
As for the river, I was pretty sure he would bet the river with almost anything after my checks on the turn/river. As you say his re-re-raise was quite scaring as I could not see a flush do this on the river with this board ...

Second that!!!

BTW, these hands were played during my first 15 50NL hands I guess I've played a little scared initially!

When he comes over the top of your river check-raise with a bet that large, you're often looking at a jack. Bet-call river may be better better.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

we are only beaten by AA, JJ, and AJ, all hands which geimen should be raising on the button with.

if his initial mistake costs us when we felt here, I am ok with it, but we have to follow the clues we are given. It seems much more often here geimen thinks he has the nuts with j7

btw, you had the second nuts on the turn, but its basically da nuts in this hand

ewww.... looks like there is limping preflop when there shouldn't be, checks on turns when there should be bets, and check raises on rivers when there shouldn't be. Only bigger hands stack off on that river.

You checked a full house on two streets? You dont like money?

I think mixchange meant that on the turn AA is the nuts, not the river, but thats fairly unlikely to be in this hand.

The only hands you beat on the river after his big reraise is a straight he cant get away from or some kind of wild bluff.

This is why I love playing against slowplayers.
Just playing to improve.

This analysis is not even close. Any jack beats us. Typical villians OFTEN limp J8 - AJ. Worse-than typical villians limp any-two which include lots of jacks.

This part is the funniest:

He very nearly does. That's the third nuts, and only beaten by AA or AJ. Certainly he has a split VERY often.

I think it's an easy river fold after a TERRIBLE river check/raise.
