daven will become famous soon enough
SB is a winning player who very rarely turns up without the goods.
His range for the c-r here is weighted towards sets and JJ/QQ, he could show up with 78/89 or JQ here, but it's unlikely.
I don't think he's folding to a push, and he will probably be putting in more money if I hit. Flop call is standard?

Turn gives me the straight, I'm not sure if I can find a fold if the river pairs the board - so how much should I be betting here?

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($108.75)
BB ($130.65)
UTG ($50)
UTG+1 ($266.70)
MP1 ($51.85)
MP2 ($58.35)
MP3 ($102.05)
Hero (CO) ($50)
Button ($100)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8 8
UTG raises to $1.75, 4 folds, Hero calls $1.75, 1 fold, SB calls $1.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($5.75) 7 10 9 (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $3.50, SB raises to $10, 1 fold,
Call is super-standard here, right?

ok, so i called - and...

Hero calls $6.50

Turn: ($25.75) J (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets ?

Fold the flop because he's a nit and all of your outs are in plain sight.

I'd just pot the turn, he's got a set here almost always, so make him hate life.

Fnord, I agree with daven that the flop is a standard call. we're getting 3-1 and I believe that we should be able to get $13 more if we hit our turn, plus villain might give up on turn/river and we would get a free card ...

UTG has two overs here almost always, SB is probably set mining. Too much fold equity to check.
