PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($49.25)
SB ($44.75)
BB ($51.60)
UTG ($9.50)
UTG+1 ($50.10)
MP1 ($39.25)
MP2 ($19.05)
CO ($53.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9, 8.
2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $3, 2 folds, MP1 calls $2.50, MP2 folds.

Flop: ($7.25) 9, 5, 3 (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $5.4, MP1 raises to $10.8, Hero ???

villain was running like 33/11/0 but I only had 15 hands on him, so not very relevant.
However, before he min raised the flop he said the following sentence: "What did you hit?"
Then instead of calling or folding I started to think that he would be weak and I could raise him out of the pot. Do you think this is the kind of reaction opp wanted from me with his message?

do you see how your a dog to every hand that could be playing back at you? your ahead of a FD now but do you notice how much equity you have against them?

just maybe something you havent thought of looking at

talking=strong usually. hes challenging you with that little comment, acting like he thinks you didnt hit that flop cuz you have overcards and he is pushing you off. in reality he hopes you have an overpair and will shove over his set/AA or whatever he has. i like to call and see the turn if not for that comment. like da goat said youre flipping vs a fd and overcards, but his equity is cut in half if he misses on the turn.

Actually, I knew that but I thought I could take him of the pot with a weak hand => pretty dumb thing to do ...

Indeed, good question! I think it's the first time I did in that situation, next time a limp in BU like always!

Don't turn off chat. Like Fnord said, assume chat = strong unless a villain proves otherwise.

I prefer limping behind with this hand. As played, easy fold to the flop min-c/r.
