Hero ???

villain was 24/0/1.5. This was a very awkward hand! After his flop can I put him on an A, but after the A on the river and his check, I didn't anymore. So I value betted hoping that a small PP would call.
Now, he check-raises river ... He might have an A after all. I'm getting around 2.9-1 in pot odds ... so I just need to be ahead around 28%. Can you call the river?

You stepped in it. I would just fold and not give players at this level credit for making such an inspired c/r.

From the way the hand plays...he calls your pfr and calls a flop bet only, then check the river when paint comes before C/r ai when the 3rd ace hits.

From the way it plays out the most likely holind is that he called with Axs and decided to check to the raiser to see where you seemed to be and called the bet just in case.

When the Q comes it puts a flush out there and potentially gives you a boat given the pre-flop action so he checks to see where you're at. Your check here says a bit.

When the 3rd ace comes then he either has quads or puts you on no A due to the turn check....either way his C/r was a decent play but at this level I give him the A and make a note on his play.

Look at his stats. He's not creative.

I probably still call, though. Maybe. I don't respect shorties.
