Preflop: Hero is SB with Q, K. MP1 posts a blind of $0.50.
2 folds, MP1 (poster) checks, MP2 calls $0.50, 3 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2) 8, K, 7 (4 players)
Hero bets $1.4, BB folds, MP1 folds, MP2 raises to $3, Hero ????

villain was 26/15/1.7. My image was tight/aggressive and lately I've betting some flops.
Is thid a good spot to 3-bet? If I call do you bet the turn?
If I check the turn I'm sure villain would bet and being OOP it will not be easy ...

I hate playing OOP!

This is MP2 playing with you since you lead out of the SB and he wants to see if you are bullshitting (I see this a lot for some reason). If he had AK/KK/AA he'd had raised pre so you're really only behind to a set and will possibly see Axc here a lot at these stakes.

3-betting here would be my preference to around $8 and see what he does. If he re-raises then he might be saying he has the set, or that you are fos but if he calls and no club comes on the turn I'd be putting him to a test with 2/3-psb.

If he does have Axc and you raise to $8 you are offering him 2.8-1. He needs to win 26% of the time and his draw is about 24% to come in on the turn. So he would make a small mistake but would you shut down completely to an Ace or a club? Fold to any river bet? What if he called with a str8 draw that comes in? Then he will snaffle your 2/3 bet on the turn and maybe more on the river. So should you not bet more than $8 to ensure he's making a larger mistake now? Of course if he's got a set then a larger bet would not be good. hmmm. How to decide between pricing out various draws whilst not betting into hands that already beat us?

in an unraised pot vs a solid player fold this. youre flipping with an ace high fd or combo draw, or youre way behind 2p+. best case he has a weaker king or low fd, just fold it.

On the flop, I like a checkraise better than donking TPGK here to potentially thin the field or force bad odds on draws. As played, call the raise, donk a non-spade for half the pot, which will get us the same information as a flop checkraise but for a cheaper investment. If he was bluffing, he folds, if he was on a draw, he is not getting odds, if we are raised, we are most likely beaten and can be more comfortable with a fold. If he calls, you have to make a read of a draw, better kicker or worse kicker. With Villian's stats I would discount A,K, which he would likely raise PF with a 15%pf agression number. A pf limp from Villian we likely beat (K,J; K,10) or he is raising a flush draw for a free card.

raise PF (BTW esp since there is a poster), pot the flop.

im not mad about stacking off in unraised pots (note you should rarely ever do that) so call as played. i may lead turn on non flush/str8 card and fold to resistance.
