Villain is 40/2, appears to be a typical loose passive.

$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
9 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG RockHolly ($50.00)
UTG+1 kukuchacha11 ($20.25)
MP1 joyful_whtt ($85.40)
MP2 Crawfish9770 ($6.50)
MP3 Kerstinhemse ($40.85)
CO BballCoach ($54.00)
BTN Hero ($50.00)
SB capa_audaz ($50.00)
BB jryan421 ($10.00)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 9 players) Hero is BTN
3 folds, Crawfish9770 calls $0.50, Kerstinhemse calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.50, 1 fold, jryan421 checks

Flop: ($2.25, 4 players)
jryan421 checks, Crawfish9770 checks, Kerstinhemse checks, Hero bets $2, jryan421 folds, Crawfish9770 folds, Kerstinhemse calls $2

Turn: ($6.25, 2 players)
Kerstinhemse checks, Hero bets $4, Kerstinhemse raises to $12.50, $8.5 to Hero ($43.5)?

Now usually I'd shovel here without thinking twice, but we have a station here waking up on the turn. Without pokerstoving this, If I put AJ-AK as well as 2pr,set,straight in his range, I feel this is a shovel, but if I only put 2pr+ in his range then I feel better about calling & seeing a river.

Is AJ-AK wishful thinking here?

It's not unreasonable to put AJ+ in his range, as well as 75, maybe even some draws. I shove this.

I think if we're out of position this is an easy shove. Since we're in position, calling is okay but will put us in a tough spot on a blank river facing a big bet. I think AJ-AK,75, and draws are definitely in his range here though so shoving is better.

Calling>>>Shoving>>>Folding

Folding is out of the question because we have great implied odds

Shoving is bad because we are behind villain most of the time in this spot

Calling is great because we have the implied odds to do so. I'm assuming a set here and figuring we have about 22% equity at worst.
