Flarb89
Hey, I just signed up on this forum and I'm looking to improve my poker game/grind up the stakes easier and I ran into a hand earlier that really made me mad. I had just sat down so no reads.

PokerStars Game #8078116651: Hold'em No Limit ($0.01/$0.02) - 2007/01/22 - 23:51:48 (ET)
Table 'Abundantia' 6-max Seat #3 is the button
Seat 1: Flarb89 ($3.13 in chips)
Seat 2: Grifter1022 ($3.03 in chips)
Seat 3: ned27 ($5.87 in chips)
Seat 4: BigSlickX921 ($1.45 in chips)
Seat 5: JTAZ68 ($2.44 in chips)
Seat 6: Usurpov ($6.22 in chips)
BigSlickX921: posts small blind $0.01
JTAZ68: posts big blind $0.02
Grifter1022: posts big blind $0.02
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Flarb89 [Ts Tc]
Usurpov: raises $0.10 to $0.12
Flarb89: calls $0.12
Grifter1022: folds
ned27: folds
BigSlickX921: folds
JTAZ68: calls $0.10
*** FLOP *** [4s 2s 5h]
JTAZ68: bets $0.10
Usurpov: calls $0.10
Flarb89: raises $0.30 to $0.40
JTAZ68: calls $0.30
Usurpov: folds
*** TURN *** [4s 2s 5h] [7d]
JTAZ68: bets $0.50

Is this an easy fold? The flop seemed harmless, I really thought he would fold after the big raise, I reasoned that a set would have re raised as well as a made straight like A3 suited. But I just couldn't come up with an answer.

welcome to FTR

don't include action after your decision. In this case it would be turn card and bet

Raise the flop. That's a weakass bet. Make it 60c.

That's a weakass raise and a horribly tight fold.

swig- hero is flarb, not usurpov...his post seems fine to me

I would call here and fold to a river push. It seems like villain likes his hand, but you do beat a number of hands he might like or be semi-bluffing with on this board. You won't see him shoving much you beat on the river for value, and unless I have a specific read I would never put an opponent on a 3 street bluff at 5nl.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

Welcome to FTR.

After your raise on the flop the pot is $0.97 and he has to call $0.30; you are giving him decent pot odds to call.

Flop raise is still too small. Raise to .70 is PSB, raise to .55 is 3/4 PSB. Another reason it's too small is because they will call with anything (QJ, A3, etc.), so make them pay.

I call turn like nuts said
