Vi-Zer0Skill is on a distinguished road
Reading and Posting on this site has done absolute wonders for my game.

Anyways...

I have started playing a lot more aggressively preflop and 90% of the time the result has been a better played hand. This hand was difficult for me, and i wonder if i killed an opportunity to win this hand at any stage.

PokerStars Game #**********: Hold'em No Limit ($0.25/$0.50) -

Seat 1: CO ($34.75 in chips)
Seat 2: Button ($65.65 in chips)
Seat 3: SB ($49.20 in chips)
Seat 4: BB ($48.75 in chips)
Seat 5: Hero (UTG) ($50 in chips)
Seat 6: UTG + 1($77.10 in chips)
Seat 7: MP 1 ($67.25 in chips)
Seat 9: MP 2 ($58.10 in chips)

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [Kc As]
Hero : raises $1.50 to $2
5 folds
SB: raises $4 to $6
1 fold
Hero: raises $6 to $12
BB: calls $6
*** FLOP *** [9d Ts 9s]
BB: checks
Hero: bets $10.50
BB: calls $10.50
*** TURN *** [9d Ts 9s] [4d]
BB: checks
Hero: ?

I assumed at this point that he had a big pair (like the one i was representing). He had i think like $30 behind him at this point, so if i lead with any respectable turn bet he is pc. Is check turn fold to river bet the only way i can play the rest of this hand? Can i bluff the river if he checks the river?

Also, should i have checked flop and taken a free turn card?

yeah, PSB on flop if you really want to create destack threat against medium overpairs. If he's tight, he may lay down even QQ.

2/3 to 3/4 works.

Betting less than your PFR raise is one of the following:
o A pathetic plea from a weak player to fold
o A near lock hand grilling you up good.
o A terrible player confusing something like an over-pair as a near-lock, but still grilling you.
o A weak player who will rarely make it difficult to showdown a lukewarm hand.

You don't want to be any of the above.

When you're weak you often want to apply pressure. When you're strong you want to be playing for stacks.
