Villian is 21.6/11.6/6.6 over 310 hands. We are talking on MSN. I recently had a gutshot straight flush draw and two overs which missed, and I bet 3/4 pot on river, took it down and showed. Another hand he bet/3-bet me with 2nd pair on the flop. I've been playing really loose against him too.
He still hasn't told me a straight answer on what he had. First he said he had 33 and was pissed when the turn came, then he said he had quads and it was a good fold, then he said he had the A and it was a split. I have a feeling he was bluffing, but the pot odds was horribly bad and the rake on a split would of been huge.
Effective stacksize was about 180BB, pot was 20BB
What do you do?
[Edit:] I forgot to mention AA, so i guess my hand is the 3rd nuts. At first I discounted it because of the play preflop and on the flop. But thinking about it now, I have seen him check his option in the Big Blind with AA.

This is an easy fold since you can't win.

I don't think I even raise the river. You're risking the pot to milk him for nothing in a small pot you figure to at least split.

correct, no reason to reopen the action unless you have a crazy history with opponent which leads you to believe there is additional value

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

I pulled an anchorman and immeadiately regretted my decision after the minraise.
The main reason I folded was because it was 43 dollars, freaking 172BB. If I could detach the monitary value from the chips, I might of found a call here, and I think I would of won.

let the mini pot go and get him another time - I often try to talk myself into some of these calls, only to find out they were slowplaying the entire time - Its a nothing pot and it's not worth calling, in any case -

Nothing calls a river raise that you beat, unless they put you on a total bluff... Raising is bad here. Just call.
At a home game recently I had 78s with a flop of 7A7. I lead into an agg, yet 1st level, friend and he called, and I knew he had the A. Turn was a 7 and I lead again, he called. I checked the river knowing he would bet the A and wouldn't fold it, raised allin and he said he had to call. Bonzai.
