Would have raised pre- followed by healthy c-bet... that would likely have kicked the 8T you're worried about out...

as played, I call the 3-bet... but I am a nit

Agreed, the mistakes in this hand are pre and on the flop.

I would also call, I have no desire to go broke in a limped pot when we're so deep on the river, and chalk it up as a cooler.

Is it usual on that table , that it get folded around after UTG openlimp? No overlimping, no one iso-raised you, BB makes it easy to show down hands for you...if those are typical actions for that table (tight passiveness), then don't waste solid, midpair hands for set-mining.

Don't try to outnit the nits. Raise it preflop, then play g00t postflop. If you get only single caller, the pot is yours more often than not.

As played, I think it's just call and count it as crying call. If you are disciplined, then it's even fold, because no one will re-bluff you in that spot and any worse hands (two pairs like 79, 67) will only call.
