On the flop you asked him what his weak lead on that dry board meant, he told you it meant he likes his hand. No need to ask him again on the turn.

You're either way ahead against QQ-JJ or way behind against a set. He only has to have QQ-JJ a small percentage of the time to make a turn call profitable on implied odds, as you will definitely take his stack if you hit your 2-outer on the river.

Call turn, call reasonable river bet.

Edit: lots of posts snuck in in between.

Plus, it's not like it's a river bet and you're getting 5:1 on your call to stop the action... it's on the flop and you're going to have to call more bets until the river.

I probably do call however, and call down until the river.

we showed strength and he 3bet us.

That normally means a one pair hand is no good. By all means against the right player you shove kk here, that i agree with.
But as a general play, the minbet 3bet a raise = monster.

I agree with this.

I guess I see your point, against the right opponent it would be an easy flop fold. In this case, at this point of my poker career I'm not capable of that.

I don't think I ever fold to the turn bet.

Me neither. If he will let you showdown cheaply, by all means, do just that.

Wow, makes sense. I was putting him on 2pr/set. I couldnt find any draws. I was gonna say try and show down cheap prior to reading this. His 1bb bet/min raise made me think he really liked his hand. I forgot how much donks love their overpairs. Thanks for posting this.
