Pretty straight forward player, not brilliant, not crap. How's this hand?

Full Tilt Poker

Blinds: $0.10/$0.25

Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $8.40
UTG+1: $54.85
MP1: $12.25
MP2: $4.90
Hero: $29.90
CO: $49.10
Button: $24.65
SB: $19.75
BB: $11.55

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP3 with A Q
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: 8 J A ($2.35, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $1.5, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: K ($5.35, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

River: 7 ($5.35, 2 players)

Looks good to me. Keep the pot small. Too many straight and 2 pair possibilities to inflate this with.

I like the turn check thru to control the size of the pot. It also helps to induce a bluff on the end by villian. However, Im not really sure if I call here all the time, but I do a majority of the time.

Yeah I didn't feel the need to bloat the pot on this board. With the river call I felt like this was one of the situations where you are getting the worst of it a lot, folding and getting bluffed or calling and being behind, a bigger bet may have had me folding.
I started a new job so don't play much ATM, just FTP mini grind
