argument with a friend of mine on this hand, and wanted to get some opinions on what the right move is here? my buddy says he does not have much of a read yet. only been there for a couple of revolutions.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (9 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

BB ($83)
UTG ($473.10)
UTG+1 ($388.05)
Hero ($134.55)
MP2 ($98)
MP3 ($78.80)
CO ($64.85)
Button ($197.25)
SB ($19.55)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9, 9.
2 folds, Hero raises to $7, MP2 calls $7, MP3 raises to $20, 4 folds, Hero calls ?

do i call or fold with 3rd person still left to act.

i was hoping a little more discussion then this.

keep in mind there is still another player to act that can increase implied pot odds by just calling. he can also go all in here after me as well as just fold. now i personally feel this is an easy fold. but my buddy feels that villian not always has higher PP, plus he has great pot odds with the 3rd player in the mix.

any thoughts

fold.

they're both half stacks, so stacking both = stacking 1. so, you really don't more implied odds than you'd normally have.

anyways, MP3's 3bet size suggests he has no idea what he's doing. i'd be more interested in a read on MP2.

Fold, people love to overvalue the implied odds they may have.

Raising to 3.5x rather than 4x should be part of a strategy that lets you make good folds in spots like this.
