I bet turn;check call river is fine. His river bet seems more of a steal since you checked the turn on an Ace high flop;he prob sensed some weakness.

If you are checking the turn I think you need to call a bet on a nonheart river, I think your line is fine.

i figured it was the line that got the most value out of a pocket pair, but the least risk in case he has an A.
I think the only weak point to this play is that he see a free river with his draw. But I don't see the need to defend a hand that I am not even confident is ahead, so I don't see anything good about betting the turn here.

To be honest you're not too far behind;with a pair on the turn you have even more outs to go with your Flush Draw.

True, but I'd rather see a free river with my draw (in case he has an ace) and pick off bluffs on the river from hands that would have folded to my turn bet.
Remember, we're up against a bad lagg, so he's betting ANY river here regardless of whats in his hand.

what draw would we be afraid of anyway?
Also, on the river, I'm not saying we shouldn't call or we shouldn't fold. But don't kid yourself into thinking he's value betting a worse hand here, meaning we only beat a bluff. If you think he bluffs here more then 1/3 times, call. Otherwise, fold.
I'm guessing one of his two hole cards was an ace.

His bet size suggests he's blowing us off the pot and the regulars in this game don't think deep enough to avoid information leakage.

I won't argue this.
Sometimes I call here, sometimes I fold. Depends how often I think I'm good in this particular hand. It seems like regulars in the games I play know I make this call TOO much to be honest, so if I think that's the case, I'm much more apt to fold...
Given the right circumstances I'd consider a raise.

If what I've heard about Ed's book is accurate, expect to see more floating in online games in the comming months.
