HAND 1)
No real read on Foxbat. I do know he's a regular at 400NL here and he is most likely a winning player and most likely not a LAG. He has no read on me.

First. If you want a free card in position do you raise it up? Do you also raise with a set on these boards? That would give me a better idea.
Im a big fan of flop raises. It sets up bluffs and pay offs on later streets if you need/want to make them. Id definalty call if i were your opp in hand 1. Your line makes little sense. That turn is a large brick to me. The only hand you might have is a set and im doubtful.
id push the second flop. the turn push screems dont call to me. If you push the flop opp has a harder time putting you on anything imo.
In this pot on the turn opp has to call $100-130ish? into that pot of 270-300?. I think he may good often enough to consider that call perhaps...

Yea sometimes I'll raise for free cards, its possible that hand 2 villian wouldn't know that though. And when I do it, its usually a minraise.
No I don't flop raise sets.
My line in hand 1 is a standard set line for me, considering I got checked to on the turn.
I think if I push the flop in hand 2 he puts me on a draw too often. I know thats what I think when people push flops.
Do you not fine that in general people hate to fold before the turn?

yes thats true.
The thing that i like about raising the flop is that while it scares the weak/tighties away eventually they are gona get pissed with you. If you raise every flop because you flopped an oesd or a flush draw or a set and play it the same way whats for opp to 'read'? he has no idea what you have, other than hes gona start looking you up or pushing when he shoudlnt. When yuve done that youve changed the way he plays his hands and all you need is for him to overplay tp once and bye bye stack. Add to that the problem that 3betting is good for info, but its a bloody good way to spew chips about :P
Thus, we dont want to him to fold before the turn, we want him all in b4 the turn behind!

Hand 1 I don't like at all. I think you get called a lot of the time here because 1) your fold equity is very small (you are pushing for $200 into a $460'ish pot), and 2) your line looks like missed spades, and hence I think AA/KK/QQ checks this river with the intent of inducing a bluff and calling a push. I raise or fold on the flop.
Hand 2 is okay I think, although again, I don't think you have very much fold equity here. I prefer a bet/3-bet ai line on the flop much better. I also don't mind re-raising preflop.

At first I really didn't like hand 1, but on further review it is defendable. You are giving him great odds to call, but I just don't think he calls here w/ air and maybe not w/ a smallish to mid PP. Overall, he is probably calling you about 60% of the time, but w/ evertyhing considered you are still making money at that rate.
I wouldn't have bluffed there, but if you dont mind the variance, you might pull a small profit. Also, plays like these are great for overall table image and getting your big hands called down.

DIdnt read anyother comments but to me the first hand screams busted draw, either a busted flush or str8 draw is likely enoguh to make this move that I could see him calling down with some pretty weak hands. Of course I dont play 400nl but thats what Im thinking.

Hand 1) What hand are you trying to represent? maybe a weakly played set, but villian called your turn bet, he's probably calling the river unless he missed a draw.
Hand 2) It's a bit better, Ie. I think your fold equity is a bit higher. I still don't know if it is high enough with only one card to come. I'd like a push on the flop more if you are planning on pushing a missed turn reasons already stated.
