Hand 1 - Villian is 32/18/1.03 over a small 87 sample range. I am thinking the range of hands that I am behind here is much larger than the range that I am ahead of and that it is time to let this go.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
CO ($22.15)
Button ($24.65)
Hero ($22.85)
BB ($24.75)
UTG ($29.50)
UTG+1 ($14.35)
MP1 ($25)
MP2 ($26.50)
Preflop: Hero is SB with :Tc: :Td:.
UTG raises to $1, 3 folds, CO calls $1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2.5, 1 fold, UTG calls $1.50, CO calls $1.50.
Flop: ($7.75) (3 players)
Hero bets $7, UTG folds, CO raises to $19.65, Hero ????
Hand 2 - Villian was 42/15/1.27 over 40 hands. His weak bet/call line had me perplexed by the river. I am thinking a call on the river is mandatory, but would appreciate input on bet sizes for earlier streets.

1: If you are going to 3bet pre, make it like ~$4.50 to go. As played I am b/c that flop. How often does QQ+ take that line pre? I don't see it often but I guess it's reasonable.
2: I raise flop and turn more hoping to get it in with his stack.

That seems to be a pretty big overbet as there is currently $2.75 in the pot when it gets to me. What is the reason for $4.50 size re-raise?

Is QQ the only hand you put villian on?

What raise amounts would you throw in on the flop and turn?

1.When I 3bet I make it 3.5X +4bb for a limper to go. As for his range, I actually have him at QQ-44,22,AsKs. Against this range we are like 50/50 and there is dead money in the pot so we should be good getting it in.
2. I raise to about $3 on flop and not sure what he donks into us on turn but I raise that up hoping to get AI if possible on the turn.

But why? Is that standard? I am not questioning the math, just trying to understand the logic behind the move. Is the thought that villian's range is smaller against the larger bet and if so, how much smaller would it get?

I could also see 77, JJ, AsXs (especially As5s) being in that range but doubt adding those hands lessens our chance of winning that much as we are ahaed of most of that range as well.

Yea, when I looked at the hand later I was thinking the same thing.

Yeah, basically 3.5x + 4bb is a standard 3bet in ring games for most people. I think there was a thread recently in the SH forums about why we raise this. Just what I have always been taught and used (yeah not good logic).
77 and JJ are already included in his range. I put every PP from 44-QQ plus 22. Not sure how much As5s calls pre here twice but I guess could be slightly possible.
