My gut instinct was to fold, but then I got locked up in the whole donk mentality of folding aces in this spot is retarded due to the times he has 99,JJ,QQ,KK. So I decided to push, figuring if I flat call I'll probably be facing a push on the turn anyways. And if I'm going to call a shove on the turn, I might as well get my money in now when I at least have some fold equity. Thoughts?

As a clarification, I would say that you had ~0% FE with your push. His HUGE C/R committed him no matter what.

That seems like an awfully large PFR? Was that typical for this table? Any reads on UTG? oh wait, he posted, meaning he was brand new to the table...

The C/R from UTG looks like he's trying to say "Don't F with me with that stupid C-bet crap!" It does NOT look like he wants you to call him there. Glad you dissapointed him.

I would say you are ahead here more often than not. Good push.
Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

Your thinking is off. You have "some" fold equity against the very bottom of his range. Thats the part you want to call. You have 0 fold equity Vs anything that beats you so you aren't pushing for fold equity here. If anything you should be playing in a way that reduces your fold equity since you have more "call equity" than fold equity against the bottom of his range. (i.e. You make more on average when JJ calls you than when he folds).

After raising to almost 10% of your stack preflop you pretty much have to stack off on any flop (especially if you have been raising this much with worse hands). Im curious as to why you are raising so much. Also if you are raising so much preflop that it commits you (which you are) you should also be making sure its too much for him to set hunt profitably.

Last of all Im not keen on you raising to more chips than are in your stack. Some might see that as cheating
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

do you think JJ, QQ or KK really limp/call here? I put villain on pp or suited "broadwayish" connectors.

I think a .5 pf raise makes more sense with a $1 lead. On average you may be losing value with too big of a pf raise to weaker hands that loose players will call with.

Pelion, why do we have to stack off with 10% of our stack in there? I don't understand that. Now, we do have a third of our stack in there after the flop bet, I'm guessing that is what you are alluding to? What if the board if KQJ, all hearts? I'd probably muck in that situation.

I feel like we have to call, but we have a strong chance of being behind. His re-raise of almost twice the pot is why I call here, he may just stack off with a flush draw or OESD.
