Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is UTG with Q Q
Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, MP1 calls, 6 folds.

Flop: 5 K J ($9.5, 2 players)
Hero bets $7, MP1 calls.

Turn: 8 ($23.5, 2 players)
Hero ???

villain was 14/2/2 (only 50 hands), no specific reads.
I think the default play is to bet the turn, right? However, villain (if he's any good) will know that I don't have (often) the flush, so he can most of the time call and try to steal the pot on river if I check to him. We have the Q of clubs so we still have a chance of hitting the 4th club on river, no?
I suppose checking is bad, because villain can take away the pot
What do you do? bet and fold to raise?

What hands would villain call you with on the flop that you beat? Not much. All you have is a potential higher flush draw, but it's quite likely villain has Ac/Kc. I often c/f in these spots, but it might be a leak.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

This is what I did but I thought it was too weak and that I should have bet. I now see that my weak play was correct. Thanks guys!

I would entertain the notion of betting the turn. I'm a fan of 2-barreling when the turn brings a scare card. Especially vs tighties. And with a potential 11 outs, it's a reasonable semi-bluff IMO.

I would definitely shut down after that though...

i would say its 50/50. either c/f or b/f turn. if he minbets, or something else stupid, i would call.

i think you have some showdown value, but you cant play into much aggression here.

i dont see you winning the hand, unless you take it. and, that considered, with all that villain could now have along with his position, makes c/f the smallest mistake possible w/o a read. you can pick up a more advantageous spot soon enough.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
