aggressive villain is " to be 2891" one of the few winning players at FT 100nl playing even a little loose - he runs 19-14, 3-bets 5% and is aggressive on half of flops seen. He is good at picking up medium sized pots vs weakness, probably assisted by having played a fair amount of winning HU 500nl as well. His bluff raises/bets are usually close to pot. He's been running over me a bit across five tables, his read on me is that i like folding.
UTG is 19-5 over 200hands, all around fairly passive, calls too much. His range is pretty wide here...
pre-flop and why not setmine...
flop and i'm happy not to play aggressively on a gutshot this time.
Turn - I know I look weak leading half pot here. Without reads I bet close to pot. Bingo, I get action. Now what? cib or slam?

I'm probably shoving just because of board.

I really want to smooth call against this player but there are too many cards that will make us throw up on the river so I say tank for a while and shove. Looks like a set to me.

if he's doing it for value, then you should shove. if you think he's trying to move you off your hand, you should call, check/call (even the scariest rivers!).
I'm just not sure which is the best choice, really depends on how I think villain thinks. I'd probably call and call any river. Because I live dangerously.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

call and shove any river could be cool as on hearts/board pairing you might fold out a chop
edit: as long as UTG folds the turn
