Villain has not been at the table long, so no stats. He once limp-called my 4.5BB raise in EP with 72s, check-called my 3/4 pot c-bet when he hit the 2 (no fd), and checked down on the turn and river.

I have raised the three consecutive hands.

PokerRoom No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($105.80)
MP1 ($37.50)
MP2 ($102.60)
MP3 ($62.30)
CO ($178.40)
Button ($99.40)
SB ($156.25)
BB ($32.50)
Hero ($152.20)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, Q. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
Hero raises to $3.5, 7 folds, BB calls $2.50.

Flop: ($7.50) 4, J, 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($7.50) 7 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($7.50) A (2 players)
BB bets $29 (All-In), Hero... instacalls or instafolds?

Your 'assumed' hand is fairly transparent by the river. And he pushes when the card that most likely hit you comes along.
Fold.

You may be ahead, but I think I just fold this. You dont have much money in it. So why take the chance that he slow played a Set or something? Yea you could win a decent Pot, I dont think it is worth it though.

I have done the same a Villian here before with a big hand. Just make a ridiculous raise, when I think they would fold to a normal good size raise. To make opponent think I'm stupid or something trying to steal the pot or just fucking around. I guess because it seems so absurd to make a raise like that, if you really had a hand. People will alot of times make the call. I have done it quite a bit and over half of the time it works.

In your hand here you would probably/maybe be less likely to call if he raised it 5$-10$ than his all in bet. 5$-10$ looks like he wants a call. His all-in looks like he wants to take the pot without a showdown.

Thanks guys. I agree, there are better spots getting my money in against this guy.

During the hand I went with the donk read from the one earlier hand and instacalled it. He showed Ax.
